After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master of Arts degree in English from California State University-Long Beach, he hired on in 1996 as a risk investigator/underwriter at Bancard Inc. and worked his way to Team Captain. After leaving Bancard Inc., John joined Electronic Payment Systems as the Director of Risk. He served in this capacity for ten years overseeing the growth of the portfolio from one thousand merchant accounts to over twenty thousand. John enjoyed a long tenure with EPS, but wanted to continue to develop his professional career. He joined Pivotal Payments in Montreal as the Director of Risk. This opportunity allowed him to gain a wealth of knowledge in the underwriting and risk mitigation strategies required for the higher risk segments of merchant services. He later joined International Bancard as the Director of Risk and Underwriting and is currently serving in this capacity.
John has spent fourteen plus years in the bankcard industry and he has built a wealth of knowledge encompassing underwriting and risk mitigation, training and development of employees and relationship management with agent banks, external sales agents and the merchant base. He brings these skills and his years of experience to International Bancard and is excited to be at the helm of the Risk and Underwriting Department.
